Hometown added to Access All Eirias bill

30th April 2015

Categories: News

Irish vocal group HomeTown, the latest boy band under the Midas touch of X Factor judge Louis Walsh, have been added to the now complete programme for this year's Access All Eirias, joining The Vamps, Foxes, Only Boys Aloud and Joe Woolford at Eirias Stadium in Colwyn Bay on Sunday 7 June.

Louis is responsible for an incredible 14 UK number-one singles, sold over 11 million albums and 6.8 million singles in the UK alone with Westlife, and now he has recruited six young boys from across Ireland to be the next big thing.

Louis has said of HomeTown: "I have that same excited feeling that I had when Westlife started. These boys have the talent and the drive and the rest will come. They can all sing and I really believe they have what it takes."

HomeTown's debut single, Where I Belong, became the fastest-selling single from a debut artist and the quickest-selling single from an Irish artist in 2014. It even beat Ed Sheeran and One Direction to the number one spot.

Access All Eirias promoter, Pablo Janczur of Wales' largest independent music promoter, Orchard, said: "Louis Walsh certainly knows what he's doing in the business, so we can expect great things from HomeTown on stage on 7 June."

To see what's in store, take a look at these clips:

Only Boys Aloud will feature the full choir of 13-19 year olds from the south along with boys who are currently being recruited at rehearsals this month in Holyhead, Caernarfon, Rhyl and Wrexham, where there has been a tremendous response. The big stage at Access All Eirias offers the pan-Wales choir their first live performance, where they join a line-up of headliners The Vamps, Foxes, and the Ruthin Rapper, Joe Woolford, who was a semi-finalist in The Voice.

Rehearsals for Only North Wales Boys Aloud are open to any boy aged 13-19, regardless of experience. There are no auditions and no fees for taking part, the message is - just come along and give it a try! Times are:

Wrexham: Bamford Suite, Wrexham Racecourse Stadium Tuesdays 6.30-8.30pm

Rhyl: Rhyl Pavilion Theatre Mondays 6.30-8.30pm

Caernarfon: Caernarfon Rugby Club Mondays 6.30-8.30pm

Holyhead: Holyhead Football Club Tuesdays 6.30-8.30pm

Access All Eirias is supported by Conwy County Borough Council, Bay of Colwyn Town Council, and media partners Capital FM; Daily Post; and North Wales Weekly News.

Access All Eirias is also supported by Principality Building Society, which is supporting the event for the fourth year in a row. The Principality is also the primary funding partner of Only Boys Aloud.

The production has won national awards for the event organisers, Orchard and Conwy County Borough Council, the Production Partnership of the Year prize, in the 2013 National Outdoor Events Association (NOEA) Awards, while Conwy's Communications & Marketing Team also picked up the Event Organiser of the Year award. Orchard has also won the Regional Promoter of the Year Award in the UK Live Music Business Awards against competition from across the UK.
