EIRIAS

The Eirias development is Colwyn Bay and Conwy’s premier sporting, and non-sporting, attraction and is home to a whole host of local and regional events and activities, all situated with fifty acres of beautiful parkland.

Under the Bay Life regeneration programme the £6.5m Parc Eirias Events Centre has been part funded by the European Regional Development Fund through the Welsh Government, establishing Eirias as a Centre of Excellence for culture, leisure and sport.

Total Project Costs: £6.5m
European Regional Development Fund grant from the Convergence Programme 2007 – 2013: £1.5m

Not only is it the home of RGC and the Wales U20 Rugby International team, but it also houses Colwyn Leisure Centre and other sporting facilities.

The Eirias Events Centre offers premier facilities to the local community, members of the public, event organisers and professional sports teams and clubs.

Eirias has welcomed numerous professional clubs to use the facilities on offer including Wales U20’S, England U20’s, Cardiff Blues, Wakefield Rugby League, Samoa RFU, Tonga RFU and Wales U16 Football.

Stadiwm Zip World continues to develop and grow and it also hosts the yearly Access All Eirias concert, which over the years has brought numerous music stars to the area and been a massive boost to the local economy.

Some of the artists who have performed here are Sir Tom Jones, Elton John, Pixie Lott, Olly Murs and this year Eirias welcomes the one and only Lionel Richie on Sunday 19th June.

As well as hosting numerous sporting and music events, Eirias is also the perfect venue for any conference or event.

It can cater for numerous events including weddings, banquets and team building days to name a few.

In 2015 the Health Care and Wellbeing Precinct, based at Colwyn Leisure Centre within Eirias Park, won the prestigious Institute for Continuous Improvement in Public Services Award in the Collaborating Across Boundaries category.

A collaboration between Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board, Conwy County Borough Council and the Welsh Rugby Union it sees Health, Social Care and Leisure professionals working together to improve the health of people by applying physical activity to manage chronic disease conditions and to assist rehabilitation from acute or chronic ill health.
