Business & Investment

Colwyn Bay is in the process of change – a change that is as exciting for investors as it is for local people.

The Colwyn Bay masterplan, managed by Conwy County Borough Council's Bay Life regeneration programme and its partners has delivered a range of major investment projects including:

The creation of a regional centre of excellence for culture, leisure and sport under the Eirias project.

The stadium has quickly become a regional hub with an impressive, often sold out, capacity of 6,500 for rugby and other sports matches which see thousands of fans flock to the stadium and has helped put Colwyn Bay back on the map as well as getting tills to ring in the town’s pubs, hotels and restaurants.

The ‘Access All Eirias’ brand has also firmly cemented the stadium as a major player in providing big name outdoor events and concerts.

Boasting an impressive 15,000 capacity for such events, in 2014 the stadium saw the legendary Tom Jones play his first ever outdoor show in North Wales!

The Eirias Stadium is also a fantastic meeting point and leisure facility for the local community, open to schools and other community groups.

A modernisation of the resort’s famous waterfront including a new, dry beach and the creation of Porth Eirias, a leisure hub at the water’s edge.

Porth Eirias houses Colwyn Bay’s premier watersports facility.

Colwyn Bay has benefitted from European investment. The Colwyn Bay Town Centre regeneration formed part of a larger Coastal Town Regeneration project which received investment from the European Regional Development Fund through the Welsh Government.

Total Project Costs: £11.3m
European Regional Development Fund grant from the Convergence Programme 2007 – 2013: £5.9m

Colwyn Bay is ripe for investment!
